The Governance of the school is based on a Framework that incorporates a Board of Governors(BOG); School Directors; the Parents & Teachers Association(PTA)Executive Committee and a Management Team.

The BOG is made up of twelve Representatives consisting of five from the School’s Founding body( who also nominate the Board Chair & Vice Chair respectively); two from the Parents Body; two from the staff of the school; two from the City Council and one from the school Alumni. The Board operates through three Committees namely Finance, Academic and Discipline & Welfare – all of which have approved Terms of Reference. The Board and its Committees meet once a term. The Board deals with Policy related matters and approves all major decisions relating to the School Budget, Disciplinary Management & Welfare issues as well as Academic Plans and activities.

The school Directors play a critical role in ensuring that the Board operates the way it was designed to function and that Board and PTA decisions are implemented. They perform an executive function in linking up Policy with day to day operations by giving appropriate directions to the Management Team to ensure that planned work is effected and Risk Management is carried out as best as possible in all operational areas of the school.

The PTA Executive Committee, whose members are elected by parents during the Annual General Meetings of the PTA , represents the interests of parents and staff and they also meet once a term, with their recommendations feeding into the BOG meeting to ensure harmony between the PTA & BOG Outputs.

The Management Team headed by the Headteacher implements decisions of both the BOG and the PTA Executive Committee and generally manages the day to day activities of the school. In so doing it works closely with the school Directors to ensure that decisions relating to the school’s day to day activities are consistent and are in harmony with Policy choices made at the BOG and PTA levels. The Team which consists of representatives from Academic and non Academic areas, Finance, Administration, Procurement and Human Resources, meets once a week to deal with emerging issues.

The Management Team together with Directors meet all members of staff both at the beginning and end of each term. The beginning of term meeting discusses general plans and schedules for the entire term while the end of term reviews achievements and failures of the term in order to do better the following term.
